40,000 FFP2 masks, 140,000 surgical masks, 600 protection glasses, 40,000 disposable gowns and 300,000 nitrile gloves will be distributed to homes for the elderly and social care entities throughout Spain.
This action, which forms part of the Fundación MAPFRE Emergency Aid Plan on occasion of the health crisis caused by the COVID-19, also includes emergency financial aid for small social entities.
In particular, through its program #BeSupportive, emergency micro economic aids will be put into place, for a value of up to 2,000 euros per aid, for the social entities attached to this project so they can acquire basic need products and goods as well as hygiene products and food.
For Julio Domingo Souto, general director of Fundación MAPFRE, “as well as staying at home as an individual commitment, we as institutions are called to act intensively against the COVID-19. We address the urgent need to protect the health professionals who are caring for us so that they can continue to carry out this vital role”.
The medical material is on its way and will be distributed as it arrives in Spain.
