Infanta Elena, Director of Projects for Fundación MAPFRE, attended the prize-giving ceremony of the inter-university bugaMAP championship in Seville, which involved 250 students from the universities of Pablo de Olavide and Sevilla.

Today, 24 April in Seville, Fundación MAPFRE held the final of the first inter-university championship of the business strategy game, bugaMAP. In total, 12 seminars were run in which 48 teams took part, comprising 250 students from the University of Seville and from the Pablo de Olavide University.

bugaMAP, business game MAPFRE, is a business simulation game that teaches university and postgraduate students from numerous countries how management in the insurance industry works. This is achieved through taking decisions and simulating their impact on the company’s market share, results and solvency.

The grand final was contested between two teams from the Faculty of Work Sciences and two from the Faculty of Tourism and Finance of the University of Seville. Each member of the winning team was presented with a trophy and an Amazon voucher worth 200 euros.

Taking part in the event, which was attended by the Infanta Elena, Director of Projects for Fundación MAPFRE, was Elena Cano, Vice Rector of Institutional Relations of the University of Seville and Jose Manuel Feria, Vice Rector of Strategy, Employability and Entrepreneurship at the Pablo de Olavide University. Also taking part was Luis Angel Schweizer, the most senior Fundación MAPFRE representative in Andalusia, who explained that Fundación MAPFRE has spent over 30 years running bugaMAP in more than 15 different countries, “a project that without doubt contributes to young people acquiring a better knowledge of the insurance industry, one of Fundación MAPFRE’s main objectives”.
